Collaboration in work environments.
How is collaboration re-shaping work environments.
Especially in university and forward thinking corporate environments the trend towards greater collaboration is shaping new types of work environments.
Greater focus on team work is driving the need for spaces (and furniture solutions) which support and respond to the needs of small and large teams of people working together. Target consumers: groups of two or more people working collaboratively Spaces: University and Corporate environments
Our perspective
Problem: Many courses at Bocconi combines classroom teaching and group work, but changing from one activity to another is difficult because theres's too little time to move physicall, and because there's no (available) group-rooms nearby.
Task: How can you create an auditorium that facilitates both class teaching and group work?
Solution: Rearranging chairs and/or using svivel chairs to enable people to work in small groups.

Problems & weakness which should need solutions
Absence of small spaces in each classroom created to improve work-group conditions;
Need for ways of communication and integration between students and teachers during work-group courses.
Work-groups should be organised during lessons, because finding appropriate spaces and structures is very difficult and represents a waste of time.
Need for intra-group instruments to support research and consultation.
